All the Way up in the Dominican Republic

Latino remix alert! Mozart La Para steps thru with his take on Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up”, the single that summer could not escape. Titled “Llegue yo” which translates to “I have arrived”, it follows the same concept and sentiment as the original, a track to explain and demonstrate the details of success. No stranger to lyricism and character he delivers the vocals using that smooth conversational tone that is his trademark. That a rapper tries his hand at measuring up to the latest hit is not what sets this one apart. What’s different here is the criteria in which Mozart defines his success. He doesn’t have a house on the hills or is making money off of every drug imaginable, he just wants us to knows that he’s gotta hide his face from your girl, so as not to ruin your night. That the car he owns he bought with his own cash and can deal with the police harassment. Out here there isn’t the same opportunity to lift yourself out of the hood like in the U.S., so where Mozart is can be considered pretty high for a dude who started as a Hiphop battle MC in the Dominican circuit. Especially here where the distribution of wealth is highly imbalanced and the average citizen has to go without much that is standard for any U.S. citizen. Where grown men of profession make less than  American fast food restaurant employees to feed their families. What Mozart describes as his “all the way up” may seem insufficient when held in comparison to his American counterparts, but the comparison would be unfair, and spoken from a position of ignorance. So check this version with an open mind, and be proud of this man for making it to this level, with all that he overcame to get there. Or get out the way!
