2019 GRAMMY Award Nominations featuring Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Cardi B & More

Leading the way for the 2019 GRAMMYs is Kendrick Lamar. Despite not releasing a solo album, the Pulitzer Prize winner landed the most nominations (8) for the Black Panther soundtrack, where he served as lead artist and curator. Lamar is up for “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Best Rap Song.” For “Album of the Year,” Kendrick faces off against Cardi B (Invasion Of Privacy), Drake (Scorpion), H.E.R. (H.E.R.), Post Malone (Beerbongs & Bentleys) and Janelle Monáe (Dirty Computer). Drake follows the TDE MC with seven nods, while Folk singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile earns six nominations making her the most nominated woman at the 2019 Grammys.

Cardi B, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., Lady Gaga, and Maren Morris all follow next with five nominations each. On Friday (Dec. 7), Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, and Apple Music’s Zane Lowe appeared on CBS This Morning to announce the nominees for the four major categories (Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year).
