G-Unit captain and rising rap mogul 50 Cent continues to buck tradition in his typical controversial and headstrong fashion by saying he intends to scrap his latest album for major label power Interscope via his twitter account – and he even got bolder with a defiant stance against his label by saying to say he would leak a Dr. Dre single as well.
The Queens native, never one to mince words, took to his Twitter account early Wednesday morning (July 27) and had a lot of tough talk aimed toward his employers. “Man I’m not releasing a album i can’t believe interscope is this f*cked up right now. I apologize to all my fans,” tweeted 50 Cent. He then added, “I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to many.”
Fif upped the stakes against Interscope a bit higher even by his usual no holds barred standards by tweeting, “I LOVE DRE but I’m putting his next single psycho out tomorrow at 2:00 #SK” – eventually 50 said wouldn’t leak the good doctor’s single citing allegiance to both Dre and Interscope head Jimmy Iovine.
“I wouldn’t leak dre’s record he has done nothing but help me in my career” 50 tweeted. “jimmy has always been supportive of me.”
Fans on Twitter had a bit to say about Fif’s bold moves today – chiming in on the popular rapper and social media fixture and his edgy tweets.
“Although I hate to admit it 50 Cent is very powerful and him leaking Dre’s single could be a game changer,” tweeted user @msflowerstweets about Fif’s threat of a leak. An unimpressed @CaraPJames added, “50 cent just lost any respect I had for him. Like he’s hot on tha rap game. Lol.”
User @Skyesword clearly has had enough of 50 Cent and shared the sentiment by tweeting, “50 Cent cries more than Celie in “The Color Purple”. He must think of Jimmy Iovine as Harpo.”
50 Cent’s last tweet was sent in obvious frustration, but did urge fans to check out his latest single. “I hate when I can’t present my music the way. I feel it should be but f–k it check out I’m ON IT.” – source MTV
