Black Eyed Peas – Street Livin’ Music Video / Review

The Black Eyed Peas have returned to their Hip Hop roots with their new single “Street Livin” and yes it’s without Fergie.

Check out the empowering music video below:

The song tackles the topics of the prison industrial complex, immigration, gun violence, and police brutality. These issues are critical for our families, friends, communities, and world. Street Livin’ is a huge departure from the Black Eyed Peas Pop/EDM releases. The track is reminiscent of one of their most popular songs “Where is the Love” and has a similar message to it.

Street livin’, tough conditions
Brainwashed by the television
We lost in the war we live in
Double cross love lost no religion
Street livin’, oh my gosh

There are clear jazz instrumentals that are present on this tack with a hint of an electronic sound. It still feels fresh and stylish and conforms to what’s popular in Hip Hop today. With the return of the original trio, it seems we can expect many more songs like this from the Black Eyed Peas.
