Southside Chicago rapper Chi City presents “Members Only”, his new Refuuj-produced single featuring 2 Chainz. Chi recently released his new EP 87, featuring the single “It Ain’t Ralph Tho”, produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, the team behind records for Drake, Jay Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne. Chi has co-penned records for the likes of Flo Rida and Ty Dolla$, released his album My Untold Story featuring Kid Daytona in 2013. He has collaborated with Cory Gunz, Mullyman and has toured with Philadelphia Freeway, Mickey Factz, Mikey Halsted and Daytona. He was crowned Coast To Coast’s Indie Artist Next To Blow and has performed at the BET Artist Showcase and ThisIs50.com’s Independent Fridays. He has also ghostwritten for B.O.B., Diggy Simmons and G.O.O.D. Music affiliates. “This EP came about when I was going through a rough time creatively and personally,” says Chi. “I was at a point where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make music for myself or make music to please the industry. and with so much politics in music, it can get frustrating so I got to a point where I was like, ‘I’m gonna do music my way and tell it the way I see it’. So I locked myself in a room and recorded 25 records and narrowed it down to 11 tracks that meant the most to me. I had lost my place and I was sleeping on my homie’s couch working on records day and night, feeling like I gotta make this work. A month later I got signed to Empire.”
