One thing you can bank on during a Chris Brown interview, is that the singer will keep it real.
Days after a very candid appearance on Hot 97, Breezy made his way to Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. Chopping it about hot topics including his relationship with Karrueche and lack thereof with Drake, Breezy held very little punches. Because probation.
Brown also briefly touched on his current stance with Rihanna, admitting that the two keep their distance in an effort to not “complicate things.” He did however, slide in a jab about her courtship with a certain “corny singing rapper” (insert cough here). Peep a few highlights from Chris Brown’s Breakfast Club interview:
On being on-again, off-again with Karrueche:
“I’m impulsive, I don’t have no filter. So a lot of the times, whether it’s an issue in the relationship, whether it’s both parties, her or me, we don’t know how to communicate to say ‘Hey, let’s talk about this,’ before we say some bullshit. And then, we’re back together the next week. Then you give everybody else the option to depict our relationship and set their own basis of how we live our life.”
On being reticent about his relationship with Drake:
“He don’t make me no money by talking about him. Now if I get a check, ding ding.
On Kanye’s “if you leave Mickey you gon’ end up with a Goofy” line:
“I feel what he meant by it, and I’m not just saying it as an arrogant statement. In any situation, when you look at yourself in a certain light – cocky or not – there’s nowhere else to go. Even with [Rihanna], who else you gonna go to? […] Who else in this game she gonna go to? Some corny singing rapper? What she do now, I got respect for her and all that, whatever her choice is. But at the time, not to toot my own own, but who hotter than me?”
On Tyga and Kylie’s relationship:
“Whatever decision my man wanna make, I’ma rock with him. I ain’t gonna fight none of his battles, but it’s just like whatever decision you make. We see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, so I feel like I’ll just tell him ‘Aye man, if you was dating some regular weak chick, you wouldn’t be talked about, nobody would care.”
On the one person he looks up to:
“You know the one person I can honestly say that I look up to – Michael Jackson would’ve been my idol – as far as character, poise, just a sense of themselves, don’t need to act a certain way, is Pharrell. He’s one my inspirations as far as just a stand-up dude.”
