TARZANA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) —
Police announced that Chris Brown will be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after an all-day investigation at his Tarzana home.
A search warrant was served at Brown’s house after the Los Angeles Police Department said it received a 911 call from a woman requesting help.
Authorities said the woman called from the 5000 block of Corbin Avenue in Tarzana at about 3 a.m. Officers with the LAPD could be seen outside Brown’s home on Citrus Ridge Drive for most of the day as they waited for a search warrant.
While detectives attempted to make contact with Brown inside the residence, the singer spoke out on social media, posting three videos to his Instagram page.
“I’m asleep half the (expletive) night, I just wake up, all the mother (expletive) helicopter copters is around, police out there at the gate,” Brown said. “I’m way too tired to be dealing with this (expletive).”
“Good luck, when you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing you idiots,” Brown continued in another video.
“I don’t give a (expletive). I’m not running for politics. I don’t give a (expletive) if I get personal opinions,” Brown said. “But what I do care about is y’all defacing my name as a person and my character and integrity. I am a father. I am one of the best entertainers out here.”
Authorities would not provide details on the nature of the call and stated their investigation was ongoing. Police said they also wanted to talk to the woman who called 911 and any potential witnesses.
At about 2:30 p.m., Brown was seen speaking with officers outside the home. Then at about 5 p.m., an LAPD officer announced that Brown was being transported to be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Police explained that a lot of resources were brought in because of Brown’s high-profile nature.
