Drake Drops New ‘Back To Back’ Verse With J. Cole: ‘Championship Celebration, Regular Season’

By the looks of it, J. Cole pulled off something that he probably always wanted to do. Put on a massive show for the people of Fayetteville, N.C., his hometown and bring some of hip-hop’s biggest acts to the stage.  During the last night of his very successful “Forest Hills Drive” tour, the talented lyricist recruited huge stars like Big Sean and Jay Z. He also brought out Drake, who praised the Roc Nation artist for being such a genuine person.

“This music business is tough, man,” said Drizzy. “It’s tough to meet good people and this is one of the most genuine, realest people I ever met in my life. This [is] my brother. I want to be at your wedding one day. We’re family boy.” From there, the OVO spitter launched into a new rhyme, which is reportedly the third verse of his Meek Mill diss song “Back To Back.” At least according to VladTV.

“I put my own club in a rapper’s arena / Championship celebration during regular season / Paternity test from women I never slept with / I’m legally obligated if they request it,” he spit a capella, as Cole looked on. At that point, the instrumental for “Back To Back” came on, making the audience cheer even louder. It also seemed like Cole was put in a tough position and had to straddle a particular line.  On one hand, he probably didn’t want it to seem like he was dissing Meek by performing the cut with Drake but on the other hand he most likely wanted to support his Canadian colleague. Either way, it would definitely be in Mill’s best interest not to say anything to Cole or Drake for performing the song and just let bygones be bygones. In actuality, it’s a strategy the Philadelphia rhymer seems to be taking anyway since he hasn’t tweeted anything about Drake or “Back To Back” in a few weeks.
