Elujay – Flagrant Ft. YMTK

Elujay is a Hip-Hop artist/producer who uses his eclectic sounds to put his vision on wax. If you’ve never heard material from the Oakland musician & were looking for an overall jest of his artistry, paint a picture in your mind of jazzy production vibes that promote the rising “future bounce” sound. Elu himself would say that his music is selective and the sound of tomorrow.

Today he returns with a new addition to his growing collection of soulful vibes, this time recruiting R&B songster, YMTK titled “Flagrant”.

This new track is a dark and murky sample of rhodes keys layered with punchy drums and scattering hi hats. The production is brought to life when Grammy-certified trumpet player “Trumpet Dude,” whose musical genius has connected him to the likes of Wyclef Jean, Usher, Wiz Khalifa, Marsha Ambrosius, Eightball/MJG, adds his portion to the record. Subtle 808s give the song its hard-hitting flavor that mixes in well with its inherent soulfulness.

The verses in the track touch on how Elu  and YMTK reflect on their past relationship problems and how they dealt with them, using outlets such as weed to “weather the storm” when a woman is pushing you to the edge.

Elu shares a bit of introspect on the record:

This is MY expression of the emotions that a woman caused me to feel when I was in a relationship with her and how I coped to get through it.
