RELEASE DATE FOR BEACH CRUISER LP

RELEASES NEW SINGLE “RICH N THUGGIN'” TO RADIO

Glasses Malone’s debut album Beach Cruiser will be released August 30 by Cash Money, Suburban Noize Records and Sony Music. His new single “Rich N Thuggin” features fellow West Coast rapper Ya Boy landed at radio this week. A music video is scheduled to debut next week.

Beach Cruiser will include successful singles “Certified,” featuring Akon, and “Haterz,” featuring Lil Wayne and Birdman. The album also includes collaborations with Lupe Fiasco, Snoop Dogg, T. Pain and Rick Ross, among others.

“It represents the West Coast – slow, steady classic-ness,” Glasses said about Beach Cruiser bikes on MTV. “That’s how I want my music to be: just as timeless as a Beach Cruiser.”

Glasses had recent online success with music videos “Son,” “May 1st,” “All I Know,” “Still In The City,” “Respect My Gangsta” and “Sun Come Up,” which has had over 500,000 views on YouTube. But it wasn’t always this way.

Growing up between the crime-ridden LA neighborhoods of Watts and Compton, his family was involved in the drug trade with his mother sentenced to 20 years in prison. Turning away from his life as a member of the 7th Street Watts Crips, Glasses gave up hustling to purse his music career.

His street albums The Crack Mixtape (2004) and White Lightning (2005) altogether sold in the tens of thousands, with a number of songs spinning on LA Radio including “Two Hunned.” The buzz from these mixtapes alone started a major-label bidding war between Def Jam, Atlantic, and Interscope Records. He decided to sign with Cash Money Records for the mentorship of Baby and Slim.

Up next, in the tradition of mixtape, 2010, where Glasses did freestyles over Dr. Dre classic production, he decided to give Ice Cube’s hits the same treatment in a upcoming mixtape Cold As Ice that will be available soon.
