Jay Rock, a member of Kendrick Lamar’s Black Hippy collective, will release his new LP 90059 in the coming weeks, and on Thursday, the rapper shared the album cut “Easy Bake” featuring Top Dawg labelmate Lamar. The song, which premiered on Sirius XM’s Shade 45 (via Pitchfork), finds the Los Angeles rapper boasting on the chorus, “This shit fresh out of the oven.” Rock and Lamar’s chemistry was first showcased on good kid, m.A.A.d. city‘s standout “Money Trees,” and the two rappers reignite that fire on “Easy Bake.” Rock carries the track for two minutes before Lamar emerges with a brief, laidback verse. However, the loopy beat picks up and soon Rock and Lamar are firing lines back and forth between each other, delivering an interplay that’s rare in current hip-hop features.
