(Exclusive Interview) Introducing The Rap Game Season 3 Winner & So So Def’s Newest Signee: Nova

Executive produced by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah, The Rap Game season three features five of the most talented tween and teen rappers from around the U.S. all vying for a contract with So So Def and an iced out chain. Deetranada, Flau’jae, King Roscoe, and Tally were all competitive contenders, but it was 16-year-old Reading, Pennsylvania’s Nova who won J.D over.

True Magazine chopped it up with Nova to discuss his win, working with J.D, and his future endeavors.

First and foremost, congratulations. How does it feel to be the newest signee to So So Def and to be wearing that chain?

Feels great! I’m grateful for the opportunity! READING,PA .. RDG..AMF WE did it!!!

How was your experience in the house with the other managers and talent?

The overall experience was good, you know, like any other house filled with a bunch of people..theirs gonna be tension and some disagreements but at the end of the day, we are all family.

What was it like working with Jermaine Dupri?

JD is the big bro! What can I say, he’s a legend and generally a good dude to be around, you’ll learn a lot from him.

Can you tell us any funny moments that happened while filming that didn’t make it to tv?

Well, This one time at band camp….

There are kids all over the world who watch the show and consider you their role model. What would you say to that one kid whose dream is to become a rapper?

Grind Hard, Stay focused, Be Consistent and Stay Humble! Believe in yourself and others will too.

What is the biggest lesson “The Rap Game” has taught you?

Taught me a few things about the ins and outs of the rap industry, but the biggest thing would be determination.
