Long known for her prolific writing career, Jozzy, who wrote Billy Ray Cyrus’s verse on Lil Nas X’s chart topping smash “Old Town Road” and Jacquees’s “You”, has also worked with and written for Pharrell, 21 Savage, French Montana and Mary J. Blige amongst many others. Taking a break from writing hits for others, Jozzy shares “Sucka Free”, her first effort as an artist from her forthcoming major label debut album.
Signed to Columbia Records, Jozzy is an artist who always aims to present message. The one penned in Sucka Free is positive, with Jozzy urging listeners to be true to themselves and not be suckers for trends, fake behavior and quick likes.
On the track, Jozzy states, “This is my art, by me as an artist. I am 100 percent myself, I am Sucka Free. Shoutout to Wayne for giving me such a great verse”. Her collaborator Lil Wayne also adds; “I knew Jozzy from Miami, and would see her going hard in the studio, grinding and making everyone sound good. There was no question that I would be part of her song. All love for Jozzy.”
