Kodak Black “Painting Pictures” Debut Album First Week Numbers

Kodak Black released his debut “street album” Painting Pictures through Atlantic Records last week, and now the first week sales are in.

The LP sold 71,000 equivalent units first week, hitting the No. 3 spot on the Top 200 chart behind only Drake’s More Life and Ed Sheeran’s Divide. 51,000 of those copies were streaming equivalent album units, and 15,000 were traditional album sales.

“Tunnel Vision,” the lead single off the album, has been thriving, staying in the top 10 of the Hot 100 for three weeks now. With production from Ben Billions (“Lockjaw”), Wheezy (Young Thug’s “Swizz Beatz” and “RiRi”), Mike WiLL Made-It and more, there’s something for everybody on the album, from the melancholy “Off The Land” to the piano-laced “Pattycake.”

Kodak is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday (April 19). He’s currently behind bars in Broward County after allegedly violating his house arrest. Last week, new allegations that he assaulted an employee at a Miami strip club also surfaced.
