TRUE: How did you get the alias the “Ga Peach?”
RASHEEDA: I got the name from my fans. I have been to so many cities and everywhere I went fans would always say, “That’s her that’s the Georgia Peach” & it stuck with me.
TRUE: Who was the person most responsible for inspiring you to do music?
RASHEEDA: Hip Hop as a whole was my initial inspiration, now it’s my drive to want to accomplish more, and of course the fans.
TRUE: As a child what did you dream of becoming?(profession wise) did you actually reach for that goal and if so, when did you change your mind to wanting to rap?
RASHEEDA: I wanted to be an attorney but I realized before I got to High School that I wanted to be a female rapper.
TRUE: How would you say you have progressed as an artist from the time you were a member of “Da Kaperz” up until now?
RASHEEDA: In so many ways it make s no sense. I was barely a teen when we started that group so personally I have made a 360 from a young lady to a mother, entrepreneur, wife, song writer and the list goes on…..
TRUE: What is the most frusterating part of the entertainment business for you? How do you deal with it?
RASHEEDA: All the fakeness & how the business can build you up to tear you down. How do I deal? I just lay low, roll with my same people and learn to be great at ignoring.
TRUE: What do you think it takes for an artist/musician to stay relevant in the music game?
RASHEEDA: Stay working, you have to keep yourself out there, and of course affiliation.
TRUE: Congrats on the launch of imbossy.com!!! How is the site/company doing? What led you towards this venture?
RASHEEDA: I have always had a love for accessories and for several years I talked about starting the site and finally put my money where my mouth is. The site is doing extremely well.
TRUE: How did the “Love and Hip Hop” placement come about?
RASHEEDA: Well you know when they thought of bringing the franchise to Atlanta they had to call the Georgia peach!
TRUE: Outside of music, what are a few of your hobbies/interest?
RASHEEDA: Fashion, Designing nails (I’m good at it) & mostly I just like to spend time with my family.
TRUE: What is your favorite perk that you get out of being in the music industry?
RASHEEDA: Gaining fans who appreciate your music. When people tell me my music has helped them through situations in there life it brings me joy.
TRUE: After the music and fame are conquered, how do you want the world and your fans to remember you?
RASHEEDA: As the woman who made women feel confident, have self-respect and know that you can own your own businesses, be happily married, be a mom & make it work.
TRUE: What steps do you think female artists need to take in order to be taken seriouisly that male artists don’t?
RASHEEDA: Don’t come in the game trying to sleep with dudes thinking you’re going to get ahead, you wont.
TRUE: Who gave you your first big break and where was it?
RASHEEDA: DLO Entertainment & our 1st major deal was with Motown Records
TRUE: What other female artists are out there that you listen to and would like to work with? Why those artists specifically?
RASHEEDA: Missy, because she is a great overall artist
