Meetsims: Untitled Review

On a very similar wave and vibe like OVO Drake, Meetsims single Untitled is a conversational piece on love and life struggles. Although the song is 3 minutes, it is short and simple. One is brought into the song with a piano melody which is very soft and simple. The nasal and high pitch tonality of his voice over the track really gives off the Drake vibe, wanting to cry over your ex. Yet, it is not just a love song about past relationship. He talks about his life and the people he had to cut out. He addresses his journey of faith and even the influence his parents had on his life. It covers a lot, giving one some key information on who Turrell Sims (aka Meetsims) is.

Signed under French Montana’s label, Coke Boy Records, Meetsims also released a new project earlier this year. B.N.W.R was an EP that Meetsims in August of this year with a total of 5 songs and no features. He has something going on that is easy to follow. It is a fresh take on the songs that I have heard in the past. Many songs nowadays are wrapped up in the trap and EDM hybrid wave. It’s nice to just chill and actually understand what a rapper is saying in his songs.
