New Music: Famous Dex’s ‘Read About It’

On Christmas Day, Famous Dex gifted the world with new music.

 

His new project Read About It features some familiarities you’d associate with Dex. He comes with that same energy he always does, running through a frantic bouncy flow and diving into newer territories like slurring into singing and experimenting more with auto-tune. It seems like he’s attempting to make his music more fun to listen to, which is an interesting direction that opposes the traditional route of becoming a ‘better rapper’ with age. This exploiting of all aspects of the music shows an understanding of his own artistry that can’t be shirked off.
