Last week OMB Peezy released ‘Doin Bad’, his new collaboration with Baton Rouge’s YoungBoy Never Broke Again (formerly NBA YoungBoy), a slappy banger produced by Cardo Got Wings. Cardo, a Dallas native, is one of rap’s best secrets, working with everybody from his production on Drake to Dom Kennedy to Payroll Giovanni and more recently branching out brilliantly into Grime, producing a few tracks off Dizzee Rascal’s new album.

On ‘Doin Bad’, Peezy spits hard and quickly over the beat. It slaps in a way that shows Cardo’s heavy California influence. This comes at the announcement of their new collaborative project, Humble Beginnings. Along with this song, a few days Peezy shared the video for ‘Pressure’.

OMB Peezy flexes his flow on this track. His southern draws slips all around the words. His post-Boosie Badazz cadence fills the ambience of the beat, giving his voice a powerful control and commanding your attention. He spits relentlessly, half trap influenced and half identifying with that esoteric Bay Area bounce. Don’t sleep on him.

Humble Beginnings is dropping in October. Check out the ‘Pressure’ video below.
