Rah Digga | Never Back Down (EP)

Classic emcee, Rah Digga aka Dirty Harriet, drops a track, and it’s remix, letting the world know she has no intentions of ever backing down.  Never Back Down, in both of its incarnations is chocked full o’ hungry emcees eatin’ up an aggressive, rock-infused beat, produced by M-Phazes.  The original track features two of the underground’s dopest, Fresno’s Fashawn and Boston’s REKS.  Rah Digga sets the bar high with the first verse and Fash’ and REKS definitely don’t fall short.  REKS uses the term “trifecta” in his verse, which is an apt label for Rah Digga, Fashawn and REKS on any track.

Digga matches her original verse on the remix, which is no small feat, and features NYC transplant Nitty Scott, MC.  Nitty Scott proves to be one of few female emcees who can hang with the the small list at the level of Rah Digga (and Jean Grae, among others) on the second verse.  Nitty’s beautiful blend of lows and highs vocally creates a sound that echoes the west, midwest and east.

Rah Digga is one of hip hop’s most slept on and will remain that way, insofar as the industry continues to operate as it has, because she refuses to back down and refuses to change to match the popular mold.  So with a “middle finger to the man, building up [her] own brand, taking [her] own destiny, right into [her] own hands”, Rah Digga defines success for herself and the small circle of her true peers who will Never Back Down.

Peace and Love,
