Tawaine – “Malcolm & Martin” (Audio)

Check out Fort Worth, TX artist,Tawaine‘s new single, “Malcolm & Martin,” Tawaine reflects on the trying times that are occurring in the US. With the influx of police brutality becoming a norm on black people here in the US, Tawaine expresses exactly how he feels on this single. Be on the look out for Tawaine’s forth-coming project, “Lost” coming out in August. Check out Tawaine’s preface towards the single, “Malcolm & Martin” below.

I never thought I’d live to see this day. It’s 2016 in America and it feels very much like 1816 at times. I was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I’ve had good and bad experiences with law enforcement. It saddens me to say that the bad experiences have completely outweighed the good. Racism is very much alive in this country and we’ve yet to acknowledge this as a nation. Until we acknowledge the problem that is Police Brutality plaguing this country we will continue to spiral out of control. As a black man & father of a black male I stand up to say no more will these types of killing be allowed without justice being served. We are tired of being killed in the streets without a second thought given. “Malcolm and Martin” is a record I recorded with reflection of my own flaws as black men on display as well as the responsibilities I have to my people. I’ll continue to use my art as a platform to speak on the behalf of my demographic. “Malcolm & Martin” is the first record from the forthcoming deluxe version of my project, “Lost.”
