The Ave is a series that represents the many different lives and situations that many may face. The plot of the series follows a group of young entrepreneurs using defrauding checks to achieve their dreams of a better life beyond the gritty streets of Brooklyn, New York.
While the show follows the group, it mainly focuses on the life of a father and checks fraudster named Nate Brooks who does whatever it takes to make his dreams come true and provide only the best for his wife and son.
This series takes an in-depth look into what life is like for people living in the streets, where people do whatever it takes to make ends meet even if that means commuting felons. Nate Brooks takes a naive, aspiring man named Sergio, and teaches him the way of the streets. In addition, he teaches him the business of check defraud so he has some money through the summer.
Nate also has to deal with his rival gangs such as the Trap Gods (or the drug dealers) who are targeting Nate and his crew from the other side of town. The Trap Gods plan to get information about Nate’s gang and then take them out.
The series also shares the important message of family and loyalty through Nate’s relationships. He prides himself on being there for his family which makes us think he’s a good guy but in reality, he’s actually having a longtime affair with a forever stripper. Throughout the show, Nate juggles trying to keep his mistress underneath the wraps while he tries to keep together his own family but when his mistress begins to want more Nate threatens her until he discovers that she’s pregnant and wants to have his child. Now with back against the wall, Nate confesses to his wife ultimately ending his marriage.
