Back in September there was a buzz going around about a possible Louis Vuitton/Jeff Koons the artist collaboration with the brand OFF-WHITE by Virgil Abloh. The reason behind this was all about one thing: the strap. A bag strap to be exact. It caught everyone’s eye at New York Fashion week, last month in September 2017. It was a strap with “LOUIS VUITTON” and Virgil’s mark on it.
If you don’t know who Virgil Abloh is, he is the creator of OFF-WHITE and the one spotted with the bag at Vogue Forces for Fashion Week this year. He is known for his collaborations with KITH, IKEA, Champion and Rimowa.
He then posted a picture of a bag reading “Monet” with the strap. There are many other versions of this dope bag with different famous artwork on each. The only difference of course is the strap. There was even a coin pouch with “V.A.A” in light blue engraved on it.
But does this confirm the collaboration between Louis Vuitton, Jeff Koons and OFF-WHITE? Honestly, no one can fully say just yet. There isn’t much information out there on the release, a confirmation that it’s even happening, etc. But most can bet that this will be the case so the anticipation is sure to build. We can possibly expect a release date VERY soon. Let’s keep a look out!
