Tha Truth 2 Album is On the Way as the Texas Rap Kingpin Shares Star-Studded Second Single, Debuted by Noisey, as National Tour Begins
Telling a familiar tale of going against all odds, Texas rap legend Trae Tha Truth teams up with Rick Ross, T.I., and Audio Push on “All Good,” a single from Trae’s forthcoming 8th studio album, Tha Truth 2. Premiered by Noisey, “All Good” has the emcees reflecting on highs and lows, and the affect that money can have on relationships. “Me against the world but I still won’t quit, got it from the bottom so it’s been a long trip,” sings Audio Push’s Price on the song’s chorus. Trae is kicking off 2016 in a major way, picking up where he left off in December when he announced Tha Truth 2 while sharing the albums first single, the Quentin Miller-assisted “Takers.” While that continues to pick up steam, the circles of bosses on “All Good” demands immediate attention.
“The concept came from the reality of the struggle where you got a lot of people that count you out, a lot of people that’ll fuck you over, a lot of hoes that fucked you over,” Trae Tha Truth explained to Noisey. “Just in general it’s from the standpoint of, regardless of how people done us, it’s all good, we’re still alright, we’re built for that. It’s relatable. It came from our story and our vantage point but it’s relatable to the world, cause everybody feels like that. You’ve had a few people in your life that you thought was solid with you how you’re solid with them but they really weren’t shit. But rather than cry about it, it’s all good.”
T.I., the Grand Hustle President, and Trae Tha Truth have both played active roles in their hometown communities over the years, never forgetting where they came from. On Christmas Eve, T.I. gave back in the form of playing secret Santa as he helped to pay for last minute gifts in Atlanta. Trae has never stopped putting on for his community, and the City of Houston has acknowledged it when they honored him more than eight years ago with his own holiday. Trae Day is an annual festival commemorating Trae for his role as a civic leader – he was the first rapper in Texas to be given an official holiday by the city, and is the only to receive proclamations from two different mayors. He has also founded a nonprofit organization, helped counsel inmates, sponsored at-risk high school students, and more. Trae Tha Truth’s Tha Truth 2 is the second part of a two album series, following 2015’s Tha Truth. The project is slated to release on February 5th and is available for pre-order on iTunes.
Fans can catch Trae on his Truth Tour, which kicks off today in Tulsa, OK, with a New York City stop next Weds., Jan. 13th, followed by dates in the South, West, and Midwest.
