VIDEO: Pusha T Says “My Name Is My Name” Will Be The BEST Hip-Hop Album of The Year

@Pusha_T #MNIMN – Pusha not afraid of you, Aubrey. Instead of being concerned that Drake’s third-album buzz might diminish the impact of his My Name Is My Name solo debut on October 8, Pusha T welcomes the competition.

Taking time out from his intimate video shoot for “Pain” (featuring Future) on Sunday, Pusha sat down with VH1 Tuner to discuss the road to releasing his first studio album outside of Clipse and his GOOD Music family. When asked how it feels to have My Name Is My Name come out just two week’s after Drake’s Nothing Was The Same (today, 9/24), Pusha Ton was far from humble.

“I look at ‘Ye and Jay differently than I look at the rest,” remarked Pusha of the flurry of big hip hop releases that have hit digital and physical shelves so far this year. Preferring to have liberated his 12-track debut album alongside the summer’s stiffer, more veteran competition, Pusha’s still happy with the revised post-Drizzy timing. Why? He’s fully confident that My Name Is My Name will earn him the best hip hop album of 2013 title in the eyes of fans and critics. And while the Virginia rapper refrained from mentioning Nothing Was The Same by name, he noted looking forward to listeners making comparisons for themselves.
