Translation is a marketing and advertising firm with clients such as McDonalds, State Farm, and Anheuser-Busch in Bev. What sets Translation apart from other firms is the fact that they try to appeal to their audience’s culture to make their more products relatable.
Steve Stoute is the CEO/Founder of Translation which started in 2004. Steve has an impressive history as a Music Executive for many record labels. He was the President of the Urban Music division at Interscope Records and President of Urban Music at Sony Music Entertainment. It was at Sony where he launched the careers of Will Smith and Nas.
Steve created the McDonald’s “I’m Loving It” Campaign with Justin Timberlake and paired Wrigley with Chris Brown for a “Doublemint” jingle. Translation was also behind the idea to launch Budweiser’s Made in America music festival. Held each summer in Philadelphia, the event is a physical manifestation of Stoute’s philosophy that brands must be able to speak in one voice to younger, multicultural demographics.
Steve Stoute, Nas, and Ben Horowitz talked about Hip Hop, technology, and fashion with Complex News. Check it out here:
