Shami rapped at several local battles, house parties and live events until he was noticed by The Mother of pop star Christina Milian landing him a meeting at Def Jam records at the age of 13.
From then on Shami went on to start recording music and only 3 years later landed himself creditable features on the late Tim Dogg’s “Immortal” album released in 2003 (as well as a feature for his first mixtape “A Mind Iz A Terrible Thing 2 Waste”) and another one on Young Noble of The Outlawz “Fuck You Pay Me” which quickly spread Shami’s name through out the entire Bay Area and San Fernando valley, Gaining interest from none other then The Outlawz themselves offering him a record deal at the age of 16. Realizing the direction he wanted to take was a different one: Shami chose to not sign w/ the 2pac affiliates and decided to build up his own brand independently.
Shami continued to record and build his name up in the city through a series of live shows, battles, open mics and meetings/opportunties to spit for the likes of: DJ Quick, The Wu-Tang Clan’s own Raekwon and many more. Threw everything Shami kept perfecting his craft and quickly aligned himself w/ Grammy award winning Los Angeles based producer DJ Khalil of Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath imprint as well as an up and coming Los Angeles producer and U-N-I’s own Ro Blvd. furthering his creditability as one of LA’s elite stars on the rise.
Shami then embarked on a trip to none other then every marijuana smoker’s dreamland: Amsterdam. Starting as just a vacation turned into a business venture w/ the discovery of European sensations Alpha the first, Neo-Rah and Steel Rain.
After it was all said and done the Los Angeles wordsmith created over 400 songs to attribute to his personal vault. Satisfied with the music he now had, Shami then returned back to California in late 2008 to further resources of bringing his brand L.A.C. to the top of the music world, which brings us to now: Shami is not only a “rapper” but an emcee, a songwriter, a live performer and executive producer. Proving more then anything he is an Artist in the truest sense of the word.
