Released at the start of June, ye moved 208,000 equivalent album units (85,000 in traditional album sales) opening week according to Nielsen Music.
The album becomes Kanye’s eighth No. 1 album, tying Eminem for the second-most No. 1 albums among hip-hop acts. JAY-Z leads both artists with 14 albums topping the charts. Overall, The Beatles lead the pack with 19 No. 1 albums.
