Originally retailing at $175, La Flame’s Air Jordan 1 ‘Cactus Jack’ sneaker is already reselling for anywhere between $700-$1000 due to completely selling out within only a few hours after release. Flight Club, one of the most renowned names in the sneaker reselling industry with aftermarket outlets across the United States, have even already introduced a controversial BuyBack scheme for the AJ1’s. Being one of the most anticipated shoes of the whole year following various moved release dates, this has already promised to be one of the most profitable releases yet for 2019.
The official product description on nike.com reads as follows, heavily recognising the rappers roots and successes in launching label Cactus Jack Records in March of 2016:
“The Air Jordan 1 celebrates Travis Scott, hip-hop artist, record label founder and Houston, Texas native. Details on the shoe, including a reverse Swoosh and hidden pouch, help set this edition of the storied sneaker apart for the rapper and producer, and for Cactus Jack Records.”
First debuting just over half a year ago, it feels as if we’ve been waiting for La Flame’s rare backward Swoosh-equipped kicks for a lifetime. The buzz grew online after Ray, Scott’s personal photographer, posted a series of instagram shots with the Nike Jordan design crew donning the sneakers in their offices, complete with kicks on the table as they answered their business calls. A genius shoot, these images show the true hype around the Cactus Jack.
