Only at the age of 24 and still and unsigned artist, this Brooklyn rapper is already a millionaire, thanks to the success of “Ooouuu”. “Ooouuu” by Young M.A was released May 12, 2016, releasing the music video on the same day, having over 200 million views. Young M.A. is also known for her mixtapes she dropped out in 2015, M.A mixtape and Sleep Walkin’, but “Ooouuu” allowed Young M.A to gain an estimate net worth of 2 million dollars. According to her interview with genius, she recorded this track drunk, explaining that “[She] wanted to be drunk while [she] recorded it. [She] was really smizz and drizz when [she] recorded the record so it feels authentic”(Genius).  “Ooouuu” by itself is her top earning song to date, allowing her to accumulate ten of thousands of dollars. There are rumors around saying that the young rapper has made 20 million dollars off the record. There is not a concrete number of how much “Ooouuu has made, but she definitely got a nice stack from it.

Despite all of the troubles she faced while starting her music career young, with her brother getting murder in a result of being involved with gang activity, she choose not to go down the same path. She put a lot of dedication and time into her music.She also has income from Youtube, having over 1 million subscribers. With the video she post on youtube and the success of “Oooouuu” and the other mixtapes, she only has more money to look forward to in her future. Although she showed up to the studio quite tipsy, there is no doubt that she has talent and can make a boom track. Sober or drunk, Young M.A. only has more hits to come.
