Dominican Hiphop veteran Lapiz Conciente dropped his 2016 Latidos earlier this month and shows his status as his 8th full length release hits the streets. The track getting the most plays right now is “Papa” detailing his rise in street fame and less -than -legal means that come with the game. The beat is somewhat laid back with an even comical touch, strangely similar to something Eminem would rap on in the early 2000’s. Lapiz demonstrates he is still the bully of the block, and warns the younger cats not to get too cocky, regardless of him appearing less frequently on releases as of late. He is still highly respected by his peers and often requested at the DJ booth. As careers in music often come in waves of success and popularity, the amount of youtube hits isn’t what determines an artist, it’s the streets. Lapiz Conciente continues to prove this by locking them down for so long.
