What inspired you to make music a full-time career, after serving in the military?

I been in music sense I was a kid my Dad was my manager I was in a group called the FCC rappers. I always knew music was something I was good at and enjoyed, from creating a song from scratch to performing live in front of an audience. The military got old I served in combat 3 times and I realized if I’m a die I’m a die living my dreams.

Where did you come up with the name “Fase”?

I been in music sense I was a kid my Dad was my manager I was in a group called the FCC rappers. I always knew music was something I was good at and enjoyed, from creating a song from scratch to performing live in front of an audience. The military got old I served in combat 3 times and I realized if I’m a die I’m a die living my dreams.

What are some solutions you could bring to the world of hip hop?

I bring creativity to the world of hip-hop I am like a mix of the 90’s and the new Millennium. I studied this game for years it’s something I enjoy and love. Music is my life.

Where did you get the inspiration for “Equal Life”?

Equal life was actually inspired by my partner Supa Don Moe he knows a lot about my life and we share a lot of similar moments coming out the streets of East New York Brooklyn. He sends me the track with that chorus and it pulled my life story out of me. I could have done 10 verses, lol but I felt 2 would work. I will share my life in portions.

Do you have any upcoming music, or an album coming out soon?

Yes I have my single “She Dancing” up next it was produced by Atlanta’s own ZMD. He’s a beast.

What inspired your clothing line?

I always wanted a clothing line and one day I thought why wait, so I connected with a company from out of Cali that made my vision come to life instantly. The dog represents my dog Diesel he was my closest pet coming up. I loved that dog a lot and when i left home to go to boot camp he ran away. Very touching moment for me. So Shafase is inspired by Diesel.

What is the name of your water company, and where did you come up with the idea to start it?

I always wanted my own water of course being a big 50 fan I pretty much followed his footsteps. This was another case of knowing the right people my homie Jerze set me up with the water company and it was all history from there.

What inspired you to create a Homeless Organization?

I know what it’s like to not have food in the cabinet; although my Mom wouldn’t let me starve I still have a soft spot for homeless people. I’m always feeling compelled to help make a difference in someone’s life.

What do you feel separates yourself from other rappers?

I feel like I come in the game with knowledge of the game and of what people want to hear. I want to be known as a trendsetter and not a fad rapper. So I realize my sound may take time to catch but when it does I’m going to enjoy the ride.

So far, what has been the biggest challenge you’ve come across in your music career?

My biggest challenge is coming across sincere people that keep their words and do as they say they’re going to do. This game shady even on a lower level crabs don’t even want you to be noticed and that’s a major challenge. Maybe I should have held back on the clothing and water because I feel like that’s a threat. Instead of people looking at it like I’m just trying to feed my family, they look another way. Loyalty and Integrity is hard to find.
